How to use your Mac’s Speech Recognition tool
lifehacker asked:
Mac OS X comes bundled with a Speech Recognition tool that doesn’t do a lot out of the box, but it’s actually very easy to configure. Here’s an idea of what you can do with it.

There should be one with every model. Maybe you need an adatpor. I don’t know the terminology but if you got a fat end you need an adapter. As far as I know (which isn’t much so I hope someone else will reply too) you can use one for the small mic hole or one for USB2, maybe even FireWire. Some mics come with an adaptor.

Same here.
Vista goes FAST on my computer, the fact that I have only got 800MHz and 256MB RAM and it goes faster than XP makes me wanna huggle Microsoft.
Although I do want a Mac…

I installed the “Dictate” version and have had a nightmare – working great for an hour then it started scrambling text when dictating into all apps beside itself. The Customer Support team were not able to help (several reinstalls and retrains later…)

I just recently got a laptop with Vista Basic installed. It has voice recognition built in and it actually works! Believe me, I was surprised my own self! I’ve been thinking about getting rid of Vista and going back to XP, but with each passing day I discover something new about Vista that makes me want to keep it.

I am primarily a Mac user too but remember what Steve said about letting go of the thought that for Apple to win, Microsoft has to loose. I know it’s kinda double arrogance but still quite cleaver
